Cluny collection, 1927-1950 (bulk).

Collection includes 800 books and periodicals, 2000 photos, 1200 drawings, 20 miscellaneous objects and 200 folders of miscellaneous correspondence and provides an extensive record of medieval architectural history. The material documents Kenneth John Conant's (1894-1984) forty years directing archaeological excavations and research at the Abbey of Cluny in Burgundy, France. Conant completely reconstructed in drawings and models the monastic Romanesque church. Conant was a Harvard University faculty member in the Graduate School of Design.

Kenneth John Conant (June 28, 1894 – March 3, 1984) was an American architectural historian and educator, who specialized in medieval architecture. Born in Neenah, Conant received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Harvard University in 1915.
